    Jing Project

This new project form TechSmith looks very interesting.  TechSmith are the makers of other great products I highly recommend: SnagIt and Camtasia Studio.  The image shown here was captured with Jing. It quick, easy and currently free!  The basic idea is:

The concept of Jing is the always-ready program that instantly captures and shares images and video…from your computer to anywhere.

I see it as a great tool for training and documentation - often a not-so-strong point of many ministries.  They say a picture is worth a thousands words and with the ability to share screenshots and even screen video captures there is a real new opportunity to do effective training for your volunteers and make tranisitions and on-boarding much easier.Having a ministry binder and documented procedures can go a long way to making the process of attracting and retaining volunteers much easier. (Thanks James Higginbotham for those posts.)

Try it out and see what you think!

Oh yes… there is also a blog you can check out to keep up with new developments.  It is still a work in process so expect changes and upgrades!
